Tyler Churchill
Senior Software Developer
I've spent the last 8+ years building auth systems, pipelines, and shared infrastructure that keep products running, most recently at Restaurant Brands International. When I'm not in the code, you'll find me in the garden, home brewing, out on my bike, or at home with family and my cat.

Core Technologies
Platform
Identity Architecture, JWT, Access Control, Observability, Shared Libraries, Monorepos.
Infra
AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker, orchestration, service meshes.
Experience
Restaurant Brands International
Owned the shared platform layer for franchisee-facing products across Tim Hortons, Burger King, Popeyes, and Firehouse Subs — auth libraries, observability tooling, and the data infrastructure thousands of operators rely on daily. Redesigned BI pipelines that cut manager reaction time from over an hour down to minutes. Built IoT systems tracking millions of daily drive-thru events, compressed deployment cycles from weeks to same-day, and helped grow a team of engineers from new grads into strong contributors.
Watsco Inc.
Built a white-label search and discovery platform adopted across every brand for one of North America's largest HVAC distributors. Added co-purchase recommendation models that measurably shortened customer time-to-checkout. Led sprint planning, stakeholder roadmaps, and championed cloud-native engineering standards across a fully remote team.
Showpass
Joined Showpass early and helped scale the platform through rapid growth. Built the real-time assigned seating engine — rendering live seat states for arenas with hundreds of thousands of seats at sub-second response under heavy load. Designed event-driven pipelines for ticket generation, fraud detection, and automated messaging. Stood up CI/CD infrastructure on GCP with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and service mesh patterns from scratch. Collaborated directly with engineering teams at Google, Facebook, and Uber on major third-party integrations.
Technical Writing
I occasionally write about architecture, scaling web systems, and developer productivity.
